Yorktown Zen Second Annual Fall Sesshin
Thursday, November 6th through Sunday, November 9th

Sesshin, or “collecting the heart-mind,” is an intensive, multi-day Zen Buddhist meditation retreat that provides a concentrated environment for practitioners to focus deeply on meditation (zazen). During a sesshin, participants engage in a rigorous schedule that includes silent zazen and walking meditation, formal chanting and meals, work practice, and private interviews with a teacher. The goal is to cultivate stillness, insight into the nature of one’s mind, and a deeper understanding of the self, often in pursuit of satori, or enlightenment.
